Installation for PLAY/GROUND 2021 (artplaygroundny.com)

Reanimates the ghost of the Gillet & Sons Distillery at the Buffalo Canalside by infilling the voids that once served as thresholds with speculative apertures.

The project defamiliarizes physical traces of impermanence (ruins) made flat (through printed image) and ruptured by both the hand of the maker and the body of the occupant.

Re-mapped images of the existing walls are printed onto triple-layer polyester fabric and cut into vertical strips to allow them to be directly engaged by the body in public space without instruction.
